Police find loot worth R3.8 million

A big bust for Primrose police.

A stolen truck with R3,8-million worth of loot was found by the police, in the Primrose area, recently.

Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police, told the GCN that Primrose police officers joined the EMPD to search for the stolen truck.

“The truck’s tracker led us to Rietfontein Road, in Primrose,” added Maome.

He said the truck was spotted on the corner of Bay and Rietfontein roads.

“It was struggling to reverse from a building,” he added.

“When the driver saw the police he abandoned the vehicle and tried to run away, but he was cornered and arrested.

“The people in the shop where the truck was off-loading ran away, but one of them was cornered and arrested.”

Two men aged 22 and 40 were finally arrested and taken into custody.

Maome informed the GCN that the truck was hijacked in Jet Park, in Boksburg.

The men will appear at the Germiston Magistrates Court, soon.
