Man hits ex-girlfriend when she refuses his advances

Woman attacked by her ex-boyfriend.

A 23-year-old resident of the Makause informal settlement was recently arrested on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The accused was arrested on Friday, February 27, after the victim laid aq charge with the Primrose police.

“The victim alleged that she was walking home when she was approached by her ex-boyfriend,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“He asked her to come and watch a DVD with him, but she refused.

“He asked several times, each time the victim refused.

“It was then that the suspect attacked her and hit her with a bottle.”

The woman had to be taken to hospital due to the injuries that she sustained during the attack.

The accused was traced and arrested.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
