Passing EMPD officers come to women’s rescue

Women threatened with sharp object.

Primrose police, with the assistance of the EMPD, recently arrested a 50-year-old man for attempted robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.

The arrest was made when EMPD officers saw two women fighting with a man on Main Reef Road, in Primrose.

The officers broke up the altercation and questioned the three.

The women claimed that they had been walking towards the Makause informal settlement when the man appeared out of the bushes.

He apparently threatened them with a sharp object and demanded their cellphones.

“Both ladies fought back,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The man was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was formally charged.
