Officers arrest 32-year-old for dealing drugs

R 22 000 worth of cocaine found in cupboard.

Primrose police, with the help of the Johannesburg K9 unit, arrested a 32-year-old man for dealing drugs.

The arrest took place in Begonia Road, while the K9 unit were on patrol in the area.

“Officers received information about a man, believed to be selling drugs,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Officers travelled to the address given and, upon their arrival, they found a man standing outside.

The officers introduced themselves, explained why they were there, and asked to search him and the premises.

During the search they found plastic container containing R22 000 worth of cocaine, as well as R11 610 in cash hidden inside a cupboard.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Primrose Police Station where he was charged.

The accused later appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
