Ekurhuleni gears up for the 2014 Spirit Games
Annual spirit games happening this Friday.
It’s all systems go for the 2014 Spirit Games that are set to take place at the Mehlareng Stadium, Rev RTJ Namane Drive, in Tembisa, on Friday (November 7).
This year the challenge promises to be bigger, better and even more fun.
The City of Ekurhuleni hosts this annual event in partnership with the Gauteng Provincial Government, with the aim of allowing hundreds of people living with disabilities to challenge themselves and one another physically and mentally through a variety of games.
“The Spirit Games are meant to not only challenge the physical and mental strengths of the participants, but to also build their character and promote team work,” said Ekurhuleni spokesman Themba Gadebe.
Participants will go head-to-head in games such as target shooting, ball games, dangling apples, nail and hammer, board games and team-building activities.
