Despite the recent water crisis metro still takes weeks to repair leak

Water leak finally repaired.

The Germiston City News recently received a call from Nico Jacobs.

He claimed there has been a water leak outside his home in Deodar Street, Primrose East, for the past three weeks.

He, like many residents, had reportedly called the metro several times and was yet to receive any assistance.

The GCN approached the metro to find out:

  •  When will this leak be fixed?
  •  Why did it take so long to address the issue – as the leak has been there for three weeks?
  •  What measures are the metro taking to avoid this type of water wastage – with the recent water shortage still fresh in residents’ minds?

Senior media officer Lebogang Ramashala, of the metro’s department of communication and brand management, release a brief statement, saying: “The leak has been attended to and repaired.”
