Brigadier Phumla Mndlankomo congratulates team

A hundred and thirty-one suspects arrested by the Germiston Cluster Stations.

The Germiston Cluster Stations made 131 arrests in the week from October 6 to 12.

The arrests were made within each station’s patrol area and were achieved through cluster operations, as well as stop-and-searches.

The suspects were arrested for the following crimes:

  •  possession of suspected stolen property: 13;
  •  possession of drugs: 17;
  •  driving under the influence: 8;
  •  attempted murder: 2;
  •  dealing in/selling liquor without a licence: 6;
  •  assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 16;
  •  rape: 1;
  •  possession of housebreaking implements: 4;
  •  possession of vehicle-breaking implements: 1;
  •  possession of live ammunititon: 1;
  •  murder: 3;
  •  business robbery and housebreaking and theft: 3.

Others were arrested for crimes such as theft, common assault, shoplifting, drunk and disorderly in public, reckless and negligent driving, fraud, use of a motor vehicle without the owners consent, money laundering, crimen injuria, kidnapping, trespassing and intimidation.

All the accused appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Cluster commander Brigadier Phumla Mndlankomo thanked everyone who contributed to these arrests.

She encouraged the cluster members to double their efforts in the fight against crime, with the festive season fast approaching.
