Enjoy a weekend of superb dancing

Supreme Dancer of the Year set to take to the floor.

The 30th anniversary of the Supreme Dancer of the Year takes to the floor, this weekend.

Organised by Lambton-based Diana Moore Dance World, the prestigious competition will feature dancers from Germiston, as well as from the rest of the country.

All the best dancers country-wide will be vying for the top titles, for example, the Champion of Champions sections in hip hop and freestyle, as well the juvenile and Junior Achiever Champion sections.

About 500 to 600 entries into the competition are expected over the two days of dancing.

There will also be a fabulous demonstration — Adage, by Mandy Reynolds and Devlan Conway.

The first place prize money in the freestyle and hip hop Champion of Champions sections has been sponsored by Diana Moore herself.

The event takes place at the Alberton Civic Centre and tickets are available at the door.

On September 20, the competition starts at 8.30am and spectators can look forward to hip hop, freestyle, rock ‘n roll, hustle, slowdance and showdance.

On September 21, the day kicks off at 9.30am and will feature ballroom and Latin-American dancing.

Make sure you come along to enjoy a weekend packed full of excellent dancing.
