A man was arrested on Monday, August 11, on a charge of rape.
The arrest was made when the victim, the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, came to the Primrose Police Station to open a formal case against her attacker.
The victim explained to police that she had been at home when the accused arrived.
She asked him to leave as she had someone new in her life, but the man forced his way inside and raped her.
“He claimed this would teach her a lesson,” explained Sgt Style Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“We again appeal to the community to respect each other; no means no.”
The accused was taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was held pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
