An accident which took place in the early hours of the morning, on August 3, left one man dead.
According to William Ntladi, media liaison officer for the Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services, emergency services responded to a call at 4am, in Lake Road.
“On arrival they found one vehicle which was well alight.
“After the blaze was extinguished, it was found that a man of unknown age was still trapped inside the charred vehicle.
“He had burnt beyond recognition,” Ntladi said.
“There was no other vehicle involved or other patients on scene.
The cause of the accident is unknown and the scene was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.
Witnesses to the accident are being sought by Luis Teixeira Attorneys.
They said the car which caught alight was a Jeep Wrangler and that the accident took place on Refinery Road.
Lake Road becomes Refinery Road.
