Rest-a-While’s Annual General Meeting

Rest-a-While Community Centre for the Aged invites the community to AGM.

Rest-a-While Community Centre for the Aged invites the community of Primrose, especially elderly members, to attend its annual general meeting.

The meeting will be held at 9am on Thursday, July 24, at the centre, at the corner of Churchill Avenue and Shamrock Road.

“This invitation is extended to anyone who would like to know what the centre has achieved during the past year,” said centre manager Wendy Morgan.

Community members who would like to serve on the executive committee and who feel they could make a contribution to the centre, can contact Morgan on 011 822-3059.

Rest-a-While’s main aim is to keep the elderly busy with games such as Bingo, provide entertainment, church services, line dancing and workshops.

The centre also offers sewing workshops for women from the surrounding informal settlements.

“It is hoped that these women will then be able to make an income from the items they make at the centre,” explained Morgan.

“All are welcome to attend the AGM; please book with me by calling 011 828-3059, for catering purposes.”
