Local songstress set to shine

Join Ra Gee this weekend for an evening of good music.

Singer, composer and author, Ra Gee, born Rachel Chambati Gabriel, hails from Lambton Gardens.

Her family migrated to South Africa from Zimbabwe in 1997.

Her love for music started at an early age, when she was part of both the church and school choirs.

Her hit song, Ndinokuda (from the same titled first album), was released in South Africa in 2007 and was an instant hit. It did well in neighbouring countries, notably in Zimbabwe, where it received massive air play on the national TV and radio stations.

The singer/song writer is back with a bang, with her second album, titled “My Time”, which is a fusion of gospel, jazz, reggae and the famous sungura music, which will definitely captivate her fans.

Ra Gee will be performing alongside famous African international artists such as Alick Macheso, Tryson Chimbetu and Selmor Mtukudzi, on May 31, from 4pm, at the Transvaal Hotel in Boksburg.
