Celebrating the silver screen

Sing for Joy back again.

The St Dunstan’s Music Foundation will once again stage their “Sing for Joy” concert.

The event takes place on May 31.

This concert will be the foundation’s 12th production, the first having been staged in 2003.

It will once again be produced and directed by Germiston residents Malcolm and Janet Chalmers; Malcolm will be conducting and Janet will do many of the arrangements, as well as playing the organ.

“Celebrating the Silver Screen” promises to be a most enjoyable concert with a choir of approximately 90 members singing some beautiful and familiar sacred and secular numbers from the motion pictures.

The choir will be accompanied by a brass band at each performance, as well as guest performances by the St Dunstan’s College choirs, and the Benoni High School award winning pipe band.

The event takes place at the St Dunstan’s Cathedral in Woburn Avenue, Benoni at 2.30pm and 6.30pm.

For more information contact Margie Cary on 082 852 0278 or 011 425-3497.

There will be a “Food Faire” between the two performances, and during this period entertainment will be provided by the St Dunstan’s College marimba bands.
