- Avoid deserted areas late at night.
- Look around for any suspicious people or motor vehicles and run for safety.
- Always close and lock your windows while driving at night.
- Before opening gates and doors at home ensure that you are not followed.
- Have police emergency numbers on your cellphone.
- Avoid showing off money in shebeens and in the public.
- Avoid unnecessary arguments and aggression which could result in injury or death.
