Prompt response stops burglary

Security company officer puts an end to burglary.

A local ADT reaction officer put an end to a burglary recently when he interrupted the criminals.

The incident took place on April 13 at about 6am when a man gained access to a business property in Power Street, Germiston South, by jumping over the pre-cast wall.

He then broke the drywall to gain entry to the office building, which triggered the alarm.

ADT reaction officer Christopher Sibiya was dispatched to the scene and on arrival found the suspect still on the premises.

The suspect fled the scene without stealing anything.

Clive Humphrey, managing director of ADT central region, applauded Sibiya’s prompt response to the alarm activation, which resulted in the burglar having to flee the scene.

“This just emphasises the importance of always ensuring the alarm is armed when you leave the premises,” he said.
