Security company officer puts out fire

Local reaction officer extinguishes blaze.

A kitchen fire was recently extinguished at a home in Elspark, by an ADT reaction officer.

At midnight on April 16, a resident in Wildesering Street, Elspark saw smoke coming from the kitchen in his home.

He then pressed the panic button to alert his security company.

On arrival, the ADT reaction officer used a fire extinguisher from his vehicle to put the blaze out.

The Boksburg Fire Department was also contacted to assess the situation.

Clive Humphrey, managing director of ADT central region, applauded the officer for extinguishing the fire.

“Clients are encouraged to press their panic button the minute a dangerous situation arises.

“This allows ADT to arrive promptly to assist, as happened in this instance,” he said.
