Two men were recently arrested for the theft of a water pump from a local sub-station.
The arrests were made through the joint efforts of the Primrose police and a security guard at the Germiston North Sub-station.
Police were called to the scene by the company’s security guard when he noticed three men inside the sub-station.
When officers arrived, the security guard and a colleague had managed to subdue two of the men, while the third had escaped with the water pump.
The two men were arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.
“We remind the community that crime does not pay and in the end you will be found and arrested for your crime; we thank the Germiston North Sub-station security for their quick reaction to the situation,” said Sgt Style Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
