The Primrose SAPS recently arrested a 32-year-old man for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The assault is reported to have happened in the Marathon informal settlement, in November 2013.
After the attack the victim came to the Primrose Police Station to open a case against the man he accused of the assault.
When officers began their investigation it was discovered that the accused had fled to his home town, in the Eastern Cape.
After following several leads, over several months, officers were able to trace the suspect and he was arrested in the Eastern Cape and brought back to Germiston, where he was detained at the Primrose Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
