Eight busted in stop-and-search

Eight found with dagga.

The Primrose police held a stop-and-search operation in the Primrose area, last Tuesday.

During this operation, eight men, aged between 25 and 42, were arrested; all were found in possession of dagga.

“It is illegal to smoke or be in possession of dagga, therefore, we will keep arresting people who continue to break the law.

“We believe that dagga and other drugs are what encourage the youth to commit further crimes,” said Const Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

All eight suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

Three of the men were released with a warning, while the remaining five had to pay an admission of guilt fines before being released.
