Primrose shop caught selling illicit cigarettes

Three men bust with illicit cigarettes.

Following up on a tip-off, the EMPD K9 Unit raided a shop in Primrose, on Friday morning, October 11.

During the raid the officers confiscated R7 000 worth of illicit cigarettes.

Three men, who claimed to be employees at the store, were arrested.

The raid that was conducted at around 10am, when the EMPD discovered 40 cartons of Megas, Syvilles, Pacific Blue and Governor cigarettes.

The suspects, aged between 27 and 39, were transported to the Primrose Police Station, where they were all charged with illegal trading in illicit cigarettes.

All three suspects were detained at the Primrose Police Station, and are to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
