East Rand Business Women celebrates Women’s Month

Women gathered at the Sunkist Garden Pavillion on August 21 to boost local businesses and network with each other.

In celebration of Women’s Month, the East Rand Business Women (ERBW) gathered at the Sunkist Garden Pavillion on August 21.

ERBW hosts regular meetings to boost local businesses and network with other women.

Ivy Sutton was the guest speaker at the event. She brought props to show the women what they could do when facing rough patches in life.

She brought T-shirts encouraging women to be brave and have faith in every storm they might face.

She aimed to ensure women feel good about themselves and always remain positive.

She said her passion for women encouraged her to agree to speak at the meeting because she loves impacting someone’s life and likes teaching women about God and what He can do for people.

“I have passion for women, especially those doing business, married women and even single women, for every woman actually.

“I want women to live in what God created them for, and they should also embrace themselves. I would encourage women going through challenges in their lives that it is crucial to know God because I don’t know how people get through without knowing God.

“Women should learn and know how to pray because a good thing about prayer is that it doesn’t need to be at a certain time, but we can call to God anytime,” Sutton said.

Sutton also spoke to married women about how they could feel young in their marriages.

The Release Sce national sales manager, Riëtte van der Schyff, said the ERBW meetings are important to her because they help business owners network and market their business.

“The ERBW organisation is fundamental for networking between women in their businesses and helps to position your brand to those who can help you to grow your business.

“We are all different, with different challenges. Women standing together can encourage each other to overcome or manage their daily challenges,” Van der Schyff.

Sutton closed the meeting by letting the women know it is not easy to be a woman, but regardless of the challenges, they must continue believing in God.
