Free online courses offered to locals by CoE

Applications for the free online course are open and will be closed on Friday, January 26.

The CoE invites the youth and unemployed residents to take advantage of a series of free online courses tailored to expand one’s knowledge of entrepreneurship and business ventures.

The applications for the free online course are open and will close on January 26.

The course is presented by Computer Information Systems Company (Sisco), an international technology company, in partnership with the CoE, the National Library of South Africa and the Gauteng Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts, and Culture.

The course is offered as a two-part series, and the first segment, discovering entrepreneurship and creating compelling reports, sets the foundation for the second part, namely launching a business venture and engaging stakeholders for success.

The series of courses is about three months long in total.

“To ensure we leave no one behind, candidates who have successfully registered can complete these free online courses at any of the city’s 47 libraries, which offer free access to computers and Wi-Fi connection,” explained CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

“However, those with access to their own devices can access the relevant sites from anywhere,” said Dlamini.
