Canoeists of Victoria Lake Canoe Club enjoy a weekend of racing
Colin Ledwaba, Peter Chissano, and coach Richard Cele competed in a K3 (three-man kayak) and finished first on both days.
The Victoria Lake Canoe Club (VLCC) enjoyed a successful weekend of racing as members participated in the Orange Free State river race.
Colin Ledwaba, Peter Chissano, and coach Richard Cele competed in a K3 (three-man kayak) and finished first on both days, with a total time of 4 hours 24 minutes for the 60km two-day event.
Theo Dreyer, who had just returned from an international race, took the weekend off to enjoy the adrenaline rush of the river.

He partnered with Macdonald Nkosi from the Florida Lake Canoe Club and finished day one in 2 hours 20 minutes and 45 seconds.
They completed day two in 2 hours 20 minutes and 14 seconds, to finish as the 23rd K2 (double kayak) for both days.
Other VLCC paddlers who participated in the race included a three-man kayak with Roelof Greyling, Claudio Gaspari, and Martin Wimble, who finished both days in 4 hours 54 minutes as the second sub master age category finishers.
Uwe Schmidthaus and Deon Vermaak participated in the first day only and finished in 2 hours 30 as the fourth veteran age category finishers.

Craig Johnston and Grant Gladwin also had a successful race, finishing both days in 4 hours 59 minutes as the 31st K2 (two-man kayak) to cross the finish line, as the first master age category finishers.
