Local forum aims to rejuvenate Germiston

This initiative is aimed at rejuvenating Germiston and returning it to an economic hub with a vital role in Ekurhuleni.

The Germiston Business Forum held a meeting at the Germiston Golf Club last Thursday to discuss establishing a voluntary City Improvement District (CID) within the Germiston central business and Wadeville districts.

The speakers were former Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba, whose focus was on how he dealt with a hijacked building in Joburg during his term.

The second speaker was attorney Greg Vermaak, who shared the legal perspective of hijacked buildings and the importance of area rejuvenation.

This initiative is aimed at rejuvenating Germiston and returning it to an economic hub with a vital role in Ekurhuleni.

It is believed the project will attract investment, add to job creation, encourage local entrepreneurship, and uplift the communities in the Germiston area.
