Germiston High learner honoured with white blazer
“I am proud to have reached this milestone in my schooling. My parents are proud of this achievement."
Hlumani Hlatshwayo, a learner at Germiston High School, received his white blazer on February 4.

It is the second time a Hlatshwayo family member has received the blazer.
This blazer is awarded to a learner who performed well in their chosen subjects, sports and community service.
Hlatshwayo earned the blazer because he received full colours in the maths olympiad, the same for academics and a two-year service scroll.
He said he did not expect it but was happy to be the recipient.
“It was never my plan to receive the blazer. I just happened to meet the requirement by doing what I love.
“I did not plan anything. I was just dedicated in everything I did, and it worked out in my favour,” said Hlatshwayo.

He is walking in his sister Nthuthu’s footsteps as she received the blazer in 2019.
“I am proud to have reached this milestone in my schooling. My parents are proud of this achievement,” said Hlatshwayo.
He plans to study aeronautical engineering at university.
