The second leg of the GLFA will soon resume and Stars, from Makause informal settlement, are ready to fight for the top position.

Ncube is confident that his players will continue to show the same levels of discipline, confidence and dedication.

“As the season’s second leg looms, we continue our training sessions every weekday with shifted time slots to accommodate players from school,” explained Ncube.

“Our U13s and U15s participate in the GLFA league. We are fighting to get the U15s a better position on the log.

“The U13s are in a prospective position to win the league,” said Ncube.

The club aims to win the league and to be promoted.

Burning Stars assistant coach, Sidwell Makgatho, said that for the team to reach its full potential, they need the community’s support.

The club remains a beneficiary of the iThemba soup kitchen.

“We appreciate the support we receive from the soup kitchen. Some of our players rely so much on what the kitchen provides,” said Makgatho.

“We do not only teach our boys about football, but also the principles of life.

“Recently, we joined the team in Primrose to clean up illegal dumping. It’s vital that we teach them discipline and how to take care of the environment,” said Makgatho.

The U13 team is in seventh position and the U15 team is in 14th.
