“A police officer received information at around 14:30 about suspects involved in an armed robbery of a courier company,” said Rabie Ridge SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Moremi Dipolelo.

This incident happened in the Birchleigh area.

Dipolelo said the information led members of SAPS to Swift Street in Rabie Ridge where a Toyota Corolla was found inside this yard.

“They called for backup and were joined by the Johannesburg Flying Squad.

“They swiftly entered the property and found four suspects in the backroom.

“Suspected stolen property taken from the courier company vehicle, which was a rifle with one magazine and a handgun with six rounds, was recovered,” said Dipolelo.

The suspects were arrested and detained at the Rabie Ridge Police Station.
