“I was part of the Phoenix All Girl High School Cheerleading squad that became National Champions in 2018. Since then I have been part of the Gymfinity Extreme cheerleading squad. We compete in the Tertiary Co-Ed section,” she said.

The 19-year-old, who also competed in provincial and national competitions, said she applied to study at the university without expecting to hear from them.

“I was surprised when they responded with an offer for a 60% scholarship. I applied thinking that I will never even hear back from them, and then it happened,” said Boshoff.

She plans to study psychology at the Simpson University and said her dream is to work with children with autism.
