The formal memorial service for Jeppe Girls’ late principal, Dina Goncalves will take place on July 22.

To celebrate the impact Goncalves made on her learners, the school will host a weekend of reflection on July 23 and 24.

Goncalves lived her life in service of her learners, leaving a mark on thousands over the years as an educator and leader in her industry.

Following the formal memorial ceremony on July 22, the school has dedicated two days of reflection and re-connection in her honour.

Proceedings will take place on July 23, from 09:00 to 16:00, and on July 24, from 09:00 to 12:00.

What to expect

• Saturday:

Selected spaces of reflection with specific time slots and various activities. There is a minimal cost for these activities and funds will be donated in her name.

• Sunday:

A more relaxed day with spaces of reflection (no activities) to share at your leisure and connect with others.

• A tea garden to connect with friends old and new and enjoy refreshments on sale.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the establishment of the Dina Goncalves Foundation as well as contributions to Cansa.
