Local NPO gives sweet love

Post A Cake donates cakes to charity homes on a monthly basis.

The Post-a-Cake charity initiative aims to share the love by donating mouth-watering cakes, cupcakes and other sweet treats to various charities each month.

The initiative was started in 2020 and currently has 16 bakers who bake masterpieces for homeless shelters, children’s homes, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, old age homes and Hospice, to name a few.

According to the founder of the initiative, Fatima Castanho, the drive was initiated to put a smile on the faces of the needy.

“Bakers donate cakes and we randomly choose a charity or home to donate to.

“It is a great way to help the community as often those in shelters and homes are neglected by their loved ones or do not have loved ones, so that is where we come in,” she said.

The cake drive turns two in October and they would like to get even more bakers on board to donate their cakes to NPOs.

The Itemba feeding scheme received a cake from Post-a-Cake.
