According to Vusi Malinga, manager of the JD Malinga Boxing Club, Tshabalala has “done the impossible” to make his home town proud.

Tshabalala has been boxing since the age of 10.

Malinga comes from a long line of champions and his brothers Patrick and Peter have claimed champion titles.
The Malinga brothers inherited the boxing club from their late father who was their trainer and a former boxer himself. Their cousin, Tshabalala, is continuing the family’s boxing legacy.

Tshabalala recently knocked out his opponent Xolisa Magusha in the fifth round to claim the belt.

“He came to the bout with six fights under his belt against an opponent with the experience of 27 fights,” said Malinga.

“Tshabalala is a new star on the rise and he has demonstrated his dedication. Katlehong and Germiston can be proud to have a boxing champion right here,” said Malinga.
