Young talented Talitha de Klerk from Laerskool President Steyn was selected to be part of a short film by Speeltoneel and ABS Produksies.

The eight-year-old auditioned on January 15 and received a call on January 18 to inform her she will be part of the film.

“When my mother told me I was selected I was happy. I’m very excited and nervous but I can’t wait to be part of this big adventure,” said Talitha.

“I’m very proud of her. When I received the email I danced in the office, shed a few tears and my heart was pounding like never before,” said her mother, Cindy Pelser.

Cindy said Talitha has never done acting. This was the first time she tried but she loves to sing, dance, and write her own songs.

“So, this is an opportunity for her to learn more,” said Cindy.

The young upcoming actress will attend a four monthly drama course in preparation for her role.

Talitha said she is ready for the next phase of learning as she will be doing what she loves.

“I can’t wait to learn because I’m interested in knowing how it works and how they put films together and also learn the different people who play a role in putting a film together from the make-up artist, to the camera guy and everyone involved,” said Talitha.
