Residents concerned about live cable

Local economy affected by ongoing power outage.

Primrose residents raised concerns of safety due to a live wire hanging on Ash Road in Primrose.

Heiletje Visagie said she is worried that any member of the public can be electrocuted due to the hanging cable.

“There are children who walk past here from school and they could get electrocuted,” she said.

“The children in the area like to play outside and this cable has been hanging for the almost a week now.”

She also pointed out that there are businesses in the area that were affected by power outages for almost the same period of time.

“We have been using a generator, which is very noisy. We can get the basic stuff done, so we do not lose business,” said Visagie.
