Police on emergency education at schools

Police end their Child Protection Week tour by visiting ECD centres and primary schools.

The Primrose SAPS, joined by other stakeholders, visited Beulah Land Primary School and Marathon Trinity Pre-School on June 8 to teach children about safety.

This comes as Child Protection Week comes to an end.

Joining the SAPS were social workers from the Department of Social Development and members of the crime prevention desk.

“During the visit, we informed children how to report crime-related issues and taught them the emergency numbers for Child Line, which they can use in times of trouble,” said Sgt Styles

Maome, Primrose SAPS spokesperson and social crime prevention coordinator.

“They were also presented with drawing books and snacks and sweets donated by Chubby Chums. The drawing books will help them identify colours and help them improve their academics,” said Maome.
