Edenvale resident receives the gift of sound

If the hearing aids are still in good working condition, they can be reprogrammed and reused.

Lenus Esterhuizen, an Edenvale resident and patient of HearProf, recently received a donation of new hearing aids from the organistaion at Life Roseacres Clinic in Primrose.

Jeni Botha, a HearProf audiologist, said the organisation received a very powerful donation of hearing aids which was still in good working condition.

“Lenus, who has been with us since 2014, was diagnosed with profound hearing loss in both ears and face daily challenges due to this problem.

“We decided that Lenus would be the one to receive it.”

He was overjoyed and very pleased when the hearing aid was fitted.

“According to Lenus, [the hearing aid] is making a big difference.”

Jeni urged community members to donate their old hearing aids to someone in need.

She said if the hearing aids are still in good working condition, they can be reprogrammed and reused.

“We would love to see them making a difference in someone else’s life.”
