Drop off your late library books with no penalties

Fine-free week is a period where library users with overdue books are allowed to return the library books without penalties.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) is hosting a library Fine-Free Week from March 15 to 21. The spokesperson of CoE, Zweli Dlamini, explained that a fine-free week is a period for library users with overdue books to return the library books or other material without being fined or asked any questions.

“This is done to encourage those who might have missed the return dates of the books to hand them back without any penalties. “The book users are encouraged to drop the books or material inside a drop box at their nearest library during the week.”
