Duo caught with narcotics

A male and the female were apprehended by patrolling EMPD.

In Katlehong, a man and woman were apprehended by patrolling EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members on December 12.

EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the 36-year-old and 45-year-old were cornered in Moleleki section.

“Following a body search of the two suspects, officers uncovered three ziplock bags of dagga and 34 packets of nyaope, all valued at R1 800, and R149 cash.

“The suspects face charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances,” said the EMPD officer.

“The pair was marched to Katlehong Police Station and are expected to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.”
