More water supply interruptions for Kempton Park and Germiston

Germiston's water supply will be interrupted from July 31 to August 2.

The City of Ekurhuleni announced more water supply interruptions for Kempton Park and Germiston.

Kempton Park
The water supply will be interrupted from 8pm on July 31 4am on August 1 and will result in no water.

“This is due to urgent repairs to a burst water pipe. The affected areas are Isando, Croydon, Rhodesfield CBD, Aston Manor, Allen Groove, Glen Marais and Bredell,” said CoE spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
No water tankers will be allocated.

Germiston
The water supply will be interrupted from 6pm on July 31 to 1pm on August 2. This will result in low water pressure to no water.

“The interruption is due to decommissioning of 1.7km J6 Rand Water Line and Tie-in to new constructed line,” said Gadebe.

Affected areas are:
·         Lambton and surrounding area.
·         Dikathole.
·         Germiston industrial area.
·         Wadeville.
·         Delmore and Ulana informal settlements.

Water tankers will be stationed at:
·         Angus Street, CBD (Germiston Hospital).
·         Queen Street, CBD (Pharoe Park).
·         Cross and Queen, CBD (next to Germiston Civic Centre).
·         Exodus and Junction.
·         President and Power streets.
·         Railway and Driehoek streets.
·         Witdeep Road, entrance to Delmore.
·         Ulan informal settlement.
·         Stanley and Main Reef roads, Makause informal settlement.
·         Pretoria Road, Primrose swimming pool/fire department.
