A fatal love for hip-hop
Michael Kabasele hopes to become the biggest French rapper in South Africa.
Republic of the Congo-born Michael Kabasele, who performs under the name MK Fatal, aims to make his mark on the music industry.
Kabasele, who moved to Germiston in 2013, discovered his love of music when he was 10 years old.
“When I was 10 years old I joined the church choir,” said Kabasele.
“That is when I felt the passion for music ignite within me, and I knew that if I focused and worked hard one day people would recognise me for my musical talents.”

Though Kabasele is a fan of ‘good music’ his preferred genre is hip-hop.
“I was lucky throughout my musical career as I have been blessed with the ability to learn and remember new tracks and musical styles,” said Kabasele.
“It really is a gift.
Kabasele’s official musical career began in 2004 in the Republic of the Congo.
“I started simply by rapping in the streets and performing at school,” he explained.
“Then I moved to South Africa, where I hoped to expand my career.”
Kabasele has worked on several singles to date, including First Line Crew-Carefree featuring Quezzy, Vanessa featuring Timmy Otokuya, On vas bouger featuring Tamosiki Tshoko and Too Much.

In the next five years Kabasele aims to become the biggest French rapper in South Africa.
“I dream of being nominated for awards, both in South Africa and internationally,” said Kabasele.
“I also want to bring something fresh to the music scene, while focusing on making good music of course.”
