After a successful 2019/2020 Easterns Cricket League season the Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club are ready to bowl their way into the new season.

“Considering all the things that happened to the club, I think we had a great season,” said chairperson Martiens Grobler.

“We are proud that our u-10 team placed second in their league, our Sunday Directors League team finished fifth on their log and our Sunday President’s League team placed eighth in their division.”

This season the club hopes to grow their membership.

“The new season is around the corner and we are looking forward to having more teams, made up of new and old players, all here for the love of the game,” said Grobler.

The Eagles plan to enter u-10, u-12, u-14 and u-17 teams, as well as two Saturday League and two Sunday League teams.

“We have the privilege of having eight experienced senior players who will be coaching our junior players,” said Grobler.

“These players have more than 150 seasons of experience playing senior cricket between them.”

“Registration for the new season is already open,” said Grobler.

“We are determined to keep cricket alive, not only for us, but for the whole community and our children who will follow in the years to come.”
