“Police received information that the suspect was allegedly selling alcohol she called ‘pineapple’,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

“Police confiscated a 60-litre and 20-litre bucket filled with the liquor which were found at her home.

“After it was registered as evidence, the liquor was disposed of as it is perishable and cannot be stored for long periods of time.”

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza called on the community to take charge and help in the enforcement of the Covid-19 rules and regulations.

“Law enforcement agencies cannot afford to fight this virus alone,” she said.

“Communities must take charge and assist where it is needed.”
