Covid-19: Educational flyers, soap and sanitisers distributed to informal settlement communities

Primrose CPF looks to the safety and education of Marathon and Delport communities.

Members of the Primrose CPF, assisted by the Primrose SAPS and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk, visited Marathon and Delport informal settlements last Wednesday, just before the start of the national lockdown.

The aim of the visit was to distribute information flyers about Covid-19 in four languages, as well as soap and sanitisers to the communities.

Chairperson of the Primrose CPF Tracy Enslin was thrilled with the response from the Primrose community for the donations of soap and sanitisers to the cause.

“I thank the community for assisting in this regard,” she said.

She also thanked Deon Mungal for coming up with this community initiative, as well as Jean Claude Vermuelen and Luyanda Zinhle Ndlovo for collecting the donations.

“Thank you to Kevin Mortimer and Donald Robson from Mortimer Offset for so graciously doing the printing of the flyers in four languages, and Michelle Robson from Merpak for assisting with the artwork,” said Enslin.

“Thanks goes to Mike Robinson and Michael du Plessis from Spider Tactical Response for donating their time and vehicles to do the transportation and distribution of the items in the informal settlements, as well as the community leaders in Marathon and Delport, Patrick Ngobeni, Phillip Nkutha and Nurse Mnisi for their assistance.”

The Primrose CPF also showed appreciation and gratitude to the Primrose SAPS and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk for joining them and assisting, as well as Primrose CPF members John Hoffe and Tracy who helped drive the initiative and assisted with distribution in the informal settlements, and volunteers Julian Hoffe and Savanna Enslin who helped on the day of distribution.
