“Firstly we have put all of our activities and meetings on hold,” said Rest-a-While manager Trudy Carreira.

“These activities will remain on hold until further notice.”

The centre is still providing meals to many of its elderly members who rely on the service, but purely as takeaways or by delivery.

“The safety of our members comes first so we have taken it upon ourselves to create takeaway meals which are delivered to those who cannot collect,” said Carreira.
