The Germiston police are investigating a triple murder after three people were shot on Friday morning in Lambton.
Police suspect that the shooting is taxi-violence related.
When police arrived on the scene, one of the victims was found outside the vehicle lying in the street, while the other two were still in the vehicle.

Const Daphney Phooko, Ekurhuleni West District communications officer, told the GCN that the three victims, a private taxi owner and two security guards, were travelling towards Germiston in a black 3 Series BMW, when the shooting occurred at 10.15am.
“As they approached the traffic light at the intersection of Webber and Beacon roads in Lambton, four occupants in a gold Qashqai opened fire on them with an AK47,” said Phooko.
Phooko added that the taxi owner had been at a meeting in Germiston and was returning to the meeting after buying food.
“The security officers had been hired by him and he was not driving his own vehicle.
“He was driving a vehicle which had allegedly been lent to him by another taxi owner,” Phooko said.

The suspects in the Qashqai are still at large and no arrests have been made.
The Germiston SAPS is investigating the incident.
