Primrose intersections identified as smash-and-grab hotspots

Police urge motorists to be aware of their surroundings at all times.

The corners of Pretoria and Shamrock roads, Main Reef and Shamrock roads and Main Reef and Stanley roads have been identified as smash-and-grab hotspots.

“To prevent smash-and-grabs drivers of motor vehicles must adopt the practice of not leaving any valuable items inside their cars while driving.

“Everything should rather be put inside their boots,” said Sgt Style Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“Drivers must also be more alert to what action is going on around a red traffic light when they approach it.”

Moame further advised that while stationary at the traffic light drivers should look around them to try and prevent themselves from becoming a victim of crime.

The community is urged to report suspicious activity to the Primrose Police Station by calling 011 842 0500 or the Primrose SAPS Client Service Centre on 011 842 0522
