Germiston Flying Squad commander leads with passion for policing

Lt Col Madimetja Kgole heads up the Germiston Flying Squad.

He has a passion for police work and has been in the police service for almost 30 years.

This is Lt Col Madimetja Kgole the commander of the Germiston Flying Squad.

Kgole told the GCN he became an SAPS member as he wanted to serve and protect people.

“Growing up I would see people victimised and I wanted to help them and protect them from different crimes,” he said.

He started working at the Duduza Police Station and then moved to the Brakpan Highway Patrol.

The highway patrol was then amalgamated into the flying squad and Kgole has been with it for 22 years.

“I wanted to work for the flying squad when I was at the station as I liked the way they worked.

“They attend to complaints speedily,” he said.

He became commander of the Germiston Flying Squad on December 1, 2018.
