Raptors ready for the year ahead

Raptors Wrestling Club is back in action and ready for the year ahead.

Hard work and dedication are what the wrestlers from Raptors Wrestling Club pride themselves on.

The club, based in Primrose East, has been training wrestlers for almost 60 years and recently opened its doors for a new year of training.

The club encourages the community to join them for what promises to be an exciting year.

“One of the highlights of the year will be the President’s Tournament in Cape Town,” said head coach Dewald de Wet.

“And in July, two of our 10 South African champions will travel to America for a special practice camp and several tournaments.”

De Wet further explained some of the benefits of wrestling.

“Wrestling teaches discipline and self-control,” he said.

“It also develops intellectual and emotional resilience and encourages personal responsibility, as well as advancing leadership skills.”
