Crime operation yields alleged drug dealer

EMPD officers arrest alleged drug dealer.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members conducted a New Year’s eve crime-prevention operation in the Spruitview area.

While in the area, they visited a container (converted to a semi-phone booth) and found a 43-year-old man on the premises.

The container situated on Siluma Drive was visited at 5.30pm and upon searching the man the officers discovered marijuana.

Sixteen small and medium ziplock bags of marijuana with a street value of R1 600 were confiscated, as well as R1 720 in cash, believed to be earnings from dealing.

The alleged lawbreaker was detained at the Katlehong Police Station and charged with possession of and possible dealing in dagga.

He is due to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
