Soccer players from Twins Football Academy hit the muddy field at their end-of-season football party

The event was hosted at Germiston Stadium, in Delville, last Sunday.

Although it was raining throughout the day, it didn’t stop any of the players from hitting the field and kicking in some final goals before the end of their football season.

“We have been busy since January, so we decided to celebrate with our boys and have some fun at our end-of-season football party,” said Kehinde Akiode.

Twins Football Academy was founded by twin brothers Kehinde and Taiwo Akiode on March 11, 2018.

Kehinde and Taiwo both played for Luso Africa in Primrose several years ago, before they started their own academy.

“My brother and I both felt that there was a need for a football academy because we love to coach children and to uplift the talent of young people,” said Kehinde

“Twins Football Academy has helped the youth to identify their talent at an early age and this has helped them to enhance their abilities,” said Kehinde.

At the party, the u-13 team from Twins Football Academy played against Daveyton All Stars

The first half saw the local boys heading into the break with a 3-1 lead.

In the second half, Daveyton put more pressure on Twins but Twins dominated the game by keeping possession of the ball.

The match ended 5-2 in favour of Twins Football Academy

Hassan Odofin, the co-organiser for Twins Football Academy events, helped organise the event with sponsorship from Basonia Food (Pty) Ltd and Chilleweni Cold Storage.

“When I heard about the event, I had to join them because they are my brothers and we work as a team,” said Hassan.

The players enjoyed the rest of their football party with friendly games and delicious food.
