Barriers have been placed in Cemetery Road as there is a sinkhole developing in the area.

Motorists travelling in Cemetery Road, Primrose, are warned of a sinkhole developing in the area.

“The road, just past Beaconsfield Avenue, heading towards Primrose Hill, seems to be sinking,” said Ward 36 Clr Wendy Morgan.

“I have spoken the metro’s roads and stormwater department who said they would send a team to inspect the road and see if the sinking could be related to the Rand Water pipeline which was placed in area.”

Barriers have since been set-up in the road to deter motorists from driving on the allegedly compromised road surface.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution in the area.
